Miami Madness: Banana Ball’s Biggest Moments at loanDepot Park

Miami was so nice to us last year that we figured for the 2025 Banana Ball World Tour, why not do it twice?

This second go round, the Savannah Bananas and Party Animals faced off in a two game set in loanDepot Park. The sold out weekend set the stage for some of the best Banana Ball moments to date. Even the fans got in on the action, as they set the record for most fan caught foul balls in a single game in Banana Ball history with four.

Here’s a glimpse into what happened at the first MLB stadium of the year for the 2025 World Tour.

Total Eclipse of Our Hearts

Noah Fisher became the embodiment of greatness in game one at loanDepot Park. He walked up to the plate as Banana Ball’s very own version of Bonnie Tyler, singing “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” following his teammates’ rendition of the iconic audition scene from Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

In the top of the third inning in game one, Noah made his way to the plate without missing a beat, or a word, and his teammates were behind him, waving their arms up and down as a light show set the scene.

Noah nailed his plate approach, just as Greg Heffley nailed his audition.

Though Greg was unfortunately rewarded for a stellar audition with the role of a talking tree, Noah was rewarded for his stellar performance with the first Banana Ball homerun in an MLB stadium for the 2025 season. That’s one way to kick off the weekend.

The two-run bomb set the scene for what was ultimately a crazy win for the Party Animals in game one of the series.

Call the Doc!

Backflipping is second nature for the Bananas’ starting centerfielder, so it was only fitting that DR Meadows was the first one to nail a backflip trick play at the first MLB stop of the season.

DR got to work pretty quickly, snatching this accolade just two pitches into the first game of the weekend.

In the top of the first inning of game one, Reece Hampton walked up to the plate with the hopes of kicking off an offensive onslaught for the Party Animals. To his dismay, however, he sent a ball directly to the Doc, who caught the ball with ease, mid-backflip, of course.

To quote Biko Scalla, “What a way to kick it off in the 305!”

The Cameras Love KJ

KJ Jackson has really upped his Banana Ball game for the 2025 World Tour, and that’s really been showcased in all facets.

At loanDepot Park, he was in the spotlight, literally, as he walked up to the plate with “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga blaring through the stadium speakers.

He made his way through the stands, stopping every once in a while to take a selfie with a fan or pop a dance move.

When he finally got to the field, the paparazzi, who looked an awful lot like the rest of the Bananas, surrounded him. As lights flashed around him, he grabbed a hold of his bat and made his way to the plate. His at-bat ended in a ball-four sprint, and in case you were wondering, yes, KJ did sing every word of the song.

What can we say? KJ is just built for stardom. Lady Gaga would be proud.

Tell ‘em RAC taught ya!

Going into the second game of the weekend, the Party Animals were up 1-0, and were looking to stamp a sweep on the Miami set.

RobertAnthony Cruz had other plans.

At the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bananas were down 5-3 and the pressure to rally fell on the shoulders of the Golden Batter: RAC.

RAC came up to the plate with runners on second and third. Because every run in the ninth inning counts for a point, everyone watching was aware that a solid hit from the standout batter could secure a Bananas win.

And RAC’s an overachiever.

RAC didn’t just hit the ball, he absolutely crushed it.

His bomb sailed over the head of Tanner Thomas out in left-center and after taking a hard bounce, flew over the wall, which granted him a double.

His double knotted the two teams up at five. Now that’s how you be a Golden Batter.

KJ followed RAC at the plate and performed his best when the lights were shining the brightest. A hard grounder to right field was just enough to get his Golden Batter home. The Bananas won the game 6-5 and left Miami with a split series.

If you look up iconic in the dictionary, we’re pretty sure you’re gonna find these two plays.

Banana Ball’s time in the 305 was absolute insanity. Following the split set, the Bananas walk away from Miami with a 7-6 lead over the Party Animals.

Next up, the two teams play a series at home, and are gearing up to put on a jam-packed show for fans at Grayson Stadium. They’ll be on the road the following weekend, closing out the Florida stint of the tour with a game at Raymond James Stadium. It will be the first game at an NFL stadium in Banana Ball history.
